Yamaha to Explore Rural Indian Two Wheeler Market

In a bid to double its sales volume in India, Yamaha Motor is seriously considering a foray into the rural segment of the Indian two-wheeler market.

The Japanese two wheeler major has fortified a tremendous presence in the cities and urban areas aided by the brand image over the years, but now it wants to continue the stint as the premium bike maker in rural sectors as well. With a series of new launches like Yamaha Fazer, Yamaha YBR 110, and Yamaha YZF-R1 2010, Yamaha intends to woo rural young Indians who are also rearing to explore newer vistas in life.

Again, bikes are not all that Yamaha India have in store for their rural clientele. They have scooterettes and mopeds as well, and are readying to launch the power scooter Yamaha BW's 125 Fi in no time.

In line with this plan, Yamha has set a target of 1000 outlets in sub-urban and hamlets in India along with sub-dealers in another five years. Presently there are 430 standard dealers, which will be increased to 450 in another five years.

It should be mentioned in this regard that in fiscal 2009, Yamaha sold 2.2 lakh units, and is now expecting to grow by 30% this year. This is amidst the overall growth of 25% in the Indian motorbike market with the sale of 7341139 units.

Honda Unicorn Dazzler Is Finally Here!

It was first launched in 2005. Since then Honda Unicorn has always topped the chart of favorite motorbikes in India. Now, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has come up with yet another new avatar of the sizzling Honda Unicorn motorcycle, this time with a five speed transmission 150cc engine. The new Honda Unicorn is called Honda Unicorn CB Dazzler or simply Honda Dazzler.

The all new power bike Honda Dazzler comes in four color shades: Pearl Siena Red, Armour Gold Metallic, Sword Silver Metallic, and Pearl Nightstar Black. It has 17 inch alloy wheels and a rear wheel disc brake. Other state-of-art features of the new Honda motorbike include a digital console and monoshock rear suspension. The new Unicorn has been upgraded to meet the BS III Emission norms.

As far as technical specifications and road performance of the Honda Unicorn Dazzler is concerned, its 150cc air-cooled single cylinder powerplant is thought to be a good addition for the niche commuter segment.

Look wise too, much modification has been done. The CB Unicorn Dazzler has been introduced with an on-your-face naked bike styling, much like the recently launched CB Twister. With stylish curves and designs, Honda Dazzler is surely going to be a big hit amongst new-age bikers of India.

Yamaha to Launch R125

Yamaha's most awaited and highly anticipated R125 is going to be finally launched now. The Yamaha R125 is the younger sibling of the R15 and will be launched in the month of April itself. This motorcycle is powered by a 124.66cc engine which gives a maximum power of 14.5 bhp at 9000 rpm and maximum torque of 12.2 Nm at 8000 rpm. The motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1355 mm and ground clearance of 155 mm. The Yamaha R125 is expected to be be priced at Rs. 83,754/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). Moreover, the bike can be chosen out of 4 colors: Midnight Black, Burning Blue, Sports White and Impact Yellow.
